All the things mentioned above are great (they are needed)
But...
Marriages succeed because:
1. The two spouses are truly in love with each other.
2. The two spouses are intentional about the kind of marriage they want.
3. The two spouses are committed to all the rules of engagement in marriage.
Whether Christians or non-Christians, if you adhere to the principles of blissful marriage, you will experience marital bliss.

Marital success isn't a "respecter" of religious beliefs, tribe, country, social status, educational qualifications, and race. It only respects strict adherence to marital laws. Please understand that.
That is why it's possible to see a pastor with a failed marriage whereas an unbeliever is enjoying marital bliss.
That's why it's possible to see a young couple enjoying marital bliss while spouses married for donkey years are experiencing a shambolic marriage.
That's why it's possible to see a not-educated or less-educated couple enjoying marital bliss while spouses with the highest educational qualifications are experiencing marital frustration.
That's why it's possible to see less-achieving spouses enjoying marital bliss while highly-achieving spouses are divorced.
Anybody can succeed maritally just as anybody can fail maritally. The determining factor is strict adherence to marital laws. No matter who one is, marital bliss is achievable.
